Atsuo Nakagawa

Plastic and Graffiti Artist

He was born and lived in Kyoto until 7 years ago, when he permanently moved to Brazil. Since he was a child he showed interest in drawing and in monster films, one of his greatest idols to this date is Ray Harryhausen, the American genius of Stop Motion. His films that Atsuo saw in his childhood, such as ‘Simbad against the eye of the tiger’ and ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ are the big influences on his work to this day. That’s because they bring together two of the things he likes most: monsters and sculptures. The city where he was born and raised is rich in culture and tradition, there are many ancient temples and shrines, and also many paintings and sculptures of old dragons and monsters, which also influenced him in his art.
